We all know that a cancer diagnosis is devastating, not only for the person who is diagnosed but for the family as well. What most people don’t think about is the effects that the diagnosis has on everyday life. Everyday matters like paying bills, feeding your family and keeping a roof over your head worry you while you are gearing up to fight the battle of your life. We would like to help ease these burdens for one local family in our community.
This year St Augustine United is fundraising for a local family that is battling a cancer diagnosis and is worried about these very questions. Katrina had to quit her job to fight cancer. If that wasn’t a struggle enough, Katrina’s husband Jeff suffered an injury and was off work for 12 weeks during this time. Katrina, Jeff and their three children need our help. We are hoping that you will assist us in helping them with all of the everyday expenses necessary for living so Katrina can focus on fighting the battle for her health and not worry about how all of the bills are going to get paid.
Proceeds of our run will help Katrina and Jeff.
